4.5 years sought for councillors
PADANG, West Sumatra: The prosecution asked a local district court on Tuesday to sentence councillors Arwan Kasri, Titi Nazif Lubuk and Masfar Rasyid to 4.5 years in jail for graft.
Prosecutor Yuspar also asked judges at the Padang District Court to order the three to repay money they allegedly stole, amounting to Rp 342 million (US$40,235).
Arwan is the speaker of the West Sumatra provincial council, and Titi and Masfar are his deputies.
The three are accused of funneling off Rp 5.9 billion from the 2002 provincial budget. -- Antara
