45 Indonesian Citizens Evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan for Flight to Jakarta
JAKARTA - The third phase of evacuation for Indonesian citizens in Iran has been carried out, with 45 individuals set to return to Indonesia.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, the Indonesian Embassy in Baku, and the Directorate of Indonesian Citizen Protection, is currently implementing the third phase of evacuation for 45 Indonesian citizens from Iran,” said the Director of Indonesian Citizen Protection at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heni Hamidah, in her statement to Kompas.com on Tuesday (14/4/2026).
They travelled to Iran’s neighbouring country via land route, heading to Baku, Azerbaijan.
What is the condition of these Indonesian citizens?
“The evacuees are in good condition and are currently in Baku to continue their journey to Indonesia via a commercial flight on the Baku-Jakarta route,” said Heni.
