Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) provided anti-corruption training to 45 finalists for Puteri Indonesia 2026 at the KPK Anti-Corruption Education Centre in Jakarta on Thursday.

“So, with your upcoming appearances, it is hoped that you will play a role and contribute to society in combating criminal acts of corruption,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Ibnu Basuki Widodo in his remarks.

Ibnu conveyed to the finalists that combating criminal acts of corruption does not only apply to prosecutors, judges, or law enforcement officials, but also to public figures, such as Puteri Indonesia.

“Puteri Indonesia is one of the ambassadors in anti-corruption. Why? Because you are each public figures,” he stated.

In addition, Ibnu said that Puteri Indonesia has extraordinary communication skills in conveying anti-corruption values.

“But if it’s Puteri Indonesia who are the first to do so, ‘Puteri Indonesia is really impressive’. I too, when I watch, there are tests here, tests there, they can answer. Their speech is also good,” he said.

The Puteri Indonesia finalists received a special invitation to the training, which is held annually and marks the inaugural session in the organisation of the event.

The finalists also received anti-corruption materials in the form of the three-pronged approach to combating criminal acts of corruption, namely education, prevention, and enforcement, as well as the impacts and ways to prevent corrupt behaviour.

The provision of materials to the Puteri Indonesia finalists, Ibnu explained, is stipulated in Article 1 paragraph 4 of Law No. 19 of 2019 on the KPK.

That article obliges the provision of educational services to the public, including to the Puteri Indonesia finalists.
