44 Reconstruction Scenes Reveal Chronology of Unram Student's Murder

Mataram Police Resort held a reconstruction of the murder case of Nadya Dwi Ramadhany, a student at the University of Mataram (Unram). A total of 44 scenes were re-enacted.

“We carried out the reconstruction here with 44 scenes,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Mataram Police Resort, Assistant Commissioner I Made Dharma Yulia Putra, on Monday (3/8/2026).

The re-enactment was performed directly by the suspect, Haikal alias HA (18). The perpetrator wore an orange detention shirt and a black ninja-style balaclava.

The victim was portrayed by a stand-in. The reconstruction was conducted at several locations, one of them being the victim’s boarding house in the Gomong area, Selaparang Subdistrict, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“The scenes were not only at the crime scene (the victim’s boarding house), but there was also another crime scene at the bridge in the Punia area of Mataram City,” he said.

Of the 44 scenes, most were re-enacted at the victim’s boarding house. According to detikBali’s observations, the suspect performed 35 scenes at the boarding house, from entering to leaving while making off with the victim’s motorbike and two mobile phones.

“At this boarding house there were 35 scenes,” he explained.

Mataram Police Resort arrested the perpetrator on Wednesday (29/7/2026) in the Punia area of Mataram, more than two months after he committed the crime.

For context, Nadya was found dead in her boarding room in the Gomong area, Selaparang Subdistrict, Mataram City, NTB, on Sunday evening (17/5/2026). The young woman, originally from Beru Village, Jereweh Subdistrict, Sumbawa Regency, NTB, was discovered by a friend who came looking for her at her boarding house.

The victim was found lying on her back and the body had already begun to smell. The victim’s boarding room was locked, and her mobile phones and motorbike were missing.

The incident was purely a theft case that ended in the loss of Nadya’s life. No rape was committed by the perpetrator against the victim.

“It was purely theft. The perpetrator initially took a mobile phone, then took the motorbike. He was caught, then subdued the victim and strangled her (until she died),” said the Mataram Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Hendro Purwoko, on Friday (31/7/2026).
