439 Hajj Pilgrims from Pekanbaru Depart for the Holy Land from Batam Airport on Sunday Morning

Acting Governor of Riau, SF Hariyanto, saw off the group of 439 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Cluster 4 of Batam Embarkation in Kepulauan Riau, originating from Pekanbaru city. Following the send-off ceremony, the pilgrims boarded buses to Batam’s Hang Nadim International Airport for a flight to Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday at 07:10 WIB. In addition to the pilgrims, two regional Hajj officials were also farewelled. “Alhamdulillah, today we have farewelled the group of prospective Hajj pilgrims. A total of 441 people are departing,” said Acting Governor SF Hariyanto in a statement received in Pekanbaru on Sunday. He advised avoiding anything that could reduce the devotion of the Hajj, maintaining physical fitness, and complying with instructions from officials and health teams. He also urged the Regional Hajj Officials (PHD), Indonesian Hajj Guides Team (TPHI), Indonesian Hajj Worship Guidance Team (TPIHI), and Indonesian Hajj Health Team (TKHI) to serve the pilgrims with sincerity and devotion. For context, the total number of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Riau scheduled for departure in 2026 is 4,704, consisting of 4,661 pilgrims and 43 officials. The pilgrims first travel to Batam from their respective regions, stay one night at the Hajj dormitory, and then fly to Saudi Arabia.
