The Transportation Agency (Dishub) conducted a raid targeting city transport (angkot) vehicles over 20 years old in Bogor, resulting in 43 units being penalised with fines or impoundment. Kabid Angkutan Dishub Kota Bogor, Dody Wahyudin, stated on Thursday that the seized vehicles comprised both city angkot and intercity transport (AKDP), predominantly from routes 08, 07 Salabenda, and 07 Bantarjati. The operation took place around Alun-Alun and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, targeting old vehicles deemed unroadworthy. Common violations included expired vehicle tax, lapsed route permits, and failure to pass the mandatory roadworthiness test (KIR), with 60 per cent of the impounded units being technically over 20 years old. During the inspection, officers made startling discoveries, including an angkot that had replaced its broken window with clear plastic sheeting and another that used a gallon cap to close its fuel tank. Dody emphasised that AKDP vehicles were issued traffic tickets, while unroadworthy city angkots were ordered to cease operations. Several vehicles were impounded on the spot because the drivers could not produce their vehicle documents. He added that approximately four units remained detained as their owners had yet to present the required paperwork.
