420 Students Participate in Telkom's CyberHeroes Programme to Build Digital Security Awareness
PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) through its CyberHeroes digital education programme has equipped 420 students from various schools in Indonesia to improve their understanding of cybersecurity. The programme aims to help the younger generation comprehend risks in the digital space while building safe, wise, and responsible internet behaviour.
Through the CyberHeroes programme held in early April, Telkom provided practical learning to students on digital security, from recognising potential cyberbullying, risks of manipulation by unknown parties, to the importance of protecting personal data during online interactions. The CyberHeroes initiative is driven by the increasing cybersecurity challenges among children and adolescents.
UNICEF data from 2025 records that nearly 80% of Indonesia’s population has internet access, with young people spending an average of 5.4 hours per day in the digital space. However, this high intensity is not yet fully matched with adequate security literacy. Data from the Ministry of Communication and Digital in 2026 shows that 50% of Indonesian children have been exposed to inappropriate content on social media, while 42% others have experienced discomfort in digital activities.
Telkom’s Social Responsibility General Manager Hery Susanto stated that early education is key to building a healthy digital ecosystem.
“Telkom is committed to providing safe and inclusive technology utilisation for all society. Through CyberHeroes, we want to instil awareness of the importance of protecting personal data and behaving wisely in the digital space from an early age. With the spirit of Bersama Jadi Bisa, we believe every Indonesian child can also PandAI to utilise technology safely and support their growth and development,” he said.
The activity was conducted in a hybrid format and attended by several schools, namely SMP Warga Surakarta attended by 200 students online, SLB B Pangudi Luhur West Jakarta with 100 students, and SDN Blimbing 1 and SDN Blimbing 3 Tangerang each attended by 60 students. The learning materials were delivered interactively and easily understood, so participants could immediately apply the knowledge in their daily digital activities.
Embracing the Bersama Jadi Bisa spirit, the programme also emphasises inclusivity by involving students from various backgrounds, including those with disabilities. Telkom encourages every individual to have equal opportunities to understand and utilise technology responsibly and productively.
