A flood struck the Ciomas Village area in Tenjo Subdistrict, Bogor, West Java, yesterday. A total of 42 houses were damaged due to the flood from the river overflow in Tenjo.

“Preliminary results show that 42 housing units were affected, with 39 houses experiencing minor damage and three houses experiencing severe damage,” said Tenjo Subdistrict Head, Yudhi Utomo, on Monday (20/4/2026).

Meanwhile, other affected residents have returned to their respective homes. The flood was caused by the overflow of the Cimatuk River and Cicarehen River.

“Overall, 43 family heads were affected in this incident,” he stated.

Currently, there are still residents who have not returned to their homes. They are elderly individuals (seniors) who are still receiving assistance.

“Of the total affected residents, only three elderly people remain in the evacuation centre and continue to receive assistance to ensure their health and safety are maintained,” he explained.

In addition, three village bridges were affected. Two bridges experienced minor damage and one experienced severe damage.

“One neighbourhood post unit was also reported missing due to the strong flood currents,” he added.

The urgent needs still required by residents include food staples, blankets, bathing equipment, daily clothing, as well as special needs such as baby and elderly diapers. His side is still on alert to anticipate any subsequent overflow flooding.
