Three weeks since the launch of the ferry fare discount stimulus programme, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has recorded that 418,600 service users have taken advantage of the scheme. This figure represents 34.69 per cent of the target of 1.2 million beneficiaries. ASDP President Director Heru Widodo stated that the high level of public interest demonstrates the tangible benefits of the government-provided stimulus, not only in supporting public mobility during the school holidays but also in boosting economic turnover in various regions. “Entering the third week of the programme’s implementation, realisation has reached 34.69 per cent. This means the opportunity to benefit from this programme remains wide open as the quota is still available. We encourage members of the public planning inter-island travel to purchase tickets promptly to secure their desired departure schedule while enjoying more affordable crossing fares,” Heru said on Saturday, 27 June 2026. With the programme period running until 5 July 2026, the public still has the opportunity to enjoy more economical ferry fares. As of 25 June 2026, the realised subsidy absorption was recorded at approximately Rp7 billion from a total budget allocation of Rp26 billion. Through this programme, service users receive a 100 per cent discount on port service fees, which on average equates to a reduction of approximately 21.9 per cent of the total ferry ticket fare. The programme applies to journeys with departure schedules from 20 June to 5 July 2026, while ticket bookings have been open since 6 June 2026. The fare stimulus is applied at 14 ports serving seven national strategic routes: Merak–Bakauheni, Ketapang–Gilimanuk, Lembar–Padangbai, Kayangan–Poto Tano, Tanjung Uban–Telaga Punggur, Ajibata–Ambarita, and Sape–Labuan Bajo. The programme is valid for foot passengers as well as Group II and Group IVA vehicles, enabling more people undertaking inter-island travel to benefit. ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale explained that as the busiest ferry crossing in Indonesia, the Merak–Bakauheni route applies the discount programme to both Regular and Express services. On the Regular service, the fare for foot passengers is approximately Rp18,100, Group II vehicles Rp46,400, and Group IVA vehicles Rp431,200. Meanwhile, on the Express service, the passenger fare is approximately Rp44,000, Group II vehicles Rp83,616, and Group IVA vehicles Rp550,937.
