418,000 ASDP users enjoy ferry crossing discounts
State-owned ferry operator PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has recorded that 418,600 users have taken advantage of a discounted ferry fare programme by the third week of the government stimulus initiative during the 2026 school holidays. “Since the ferry fare discount stimulus programme was launched, 418,600 service users have utilised the programme, reaching 34.69 per cent of the target of 1.2 million beneficiaries,” said ASDP President Director Heru Widodo in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. With the programme period still running until 5 July 2026, the public still has the opportunity to enjoy more economical ferry fares. As of 25 June 2026, the realised subsidy absorption was recorded at approximately Rp7 billion from a total budget allocation of around Rp26 billion. Heru said the high level of public interest demonstrates that the government stimulus programme provides tangible benefits, not only in supporting public mobility during the school holidays but also in driving economic turnover in various regions. “We invite members of the public planning inter-island travel to purchase tickets promptly to secure their desired departure schedule while enjoying more affordable ferry fares,” Heru said. The programme applies to journeys with departure schedules from 20 June to 5 July 2026, while ticket bookings have been open since 6 June 2026. The fare stimulus is implemented at 14 ports serving seven strategic national routes: Merak–Bakauheni, Ketapang–Gilimanuk, Lembar–Padangbai, Kayangan–Poto Tano, Tanjung Uban–Telaga Punggur, Ajibata–Ambarita, and Sape–Labuan Bajo. The programme applies to foot passengers as well as Group II and Group IVA vehicles, enabling more people undertaking inter-island travel to benefit. ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale explained that as Indonesia’s busiest ferry crossing, Merak–Bakauheni applies the discount programme to both Regular and Express services. On the Regular service, foot passenger fares become approximately Rp18,100, Group II vehicles Rp46,400, and Group IVA vehicles Rp431,200. Meanwhile, on the Express service, foot passenger fares become approximately Rp44,000, Group II vehicles Rp83,616, and Group IVA vehicles Rp550,937. She urged the public to purchase tickets immediately via the Ferizy app or the official website trip.ferizy.com. In addition to helping users obtain travel schedules according to their needs, booking well in advance also supports smooth port operations through a more orderly and efficient service system. Members of the public requiring further information about the discount programme, ticket purchasing mechanisms, or programme terms can access ASDP’s official channels via Instagram @asdp191. Through this stimulus programme, ASDP is committed to delivering ferry services that are increasingly safe, comfortable, smooth, and affordable, as well as strengthening national connectivity and supporting public movement during the school holiday period.
