400 Nutrition Service Units in Central Java Temporarily Halted Operations Due to Delayed Fund Disbursement
A total of 400 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in Central Java had temporarily halted operations due to delays in fund disbursement from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The issue has now been resolved.
During a coordination meeting for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at the Central Java Provincial Government office, Vice Governor Taj Yasin stated that 386 SPPGs had also been closed for failing to meet wastewater treatment installation (IPAL) requirements. ‘So indeed, 386 SPPGs were closed. There were also 400 SPPGs previously reported as not having received payment. But Alhamdulillah, on 11 June, that problem was settled,’ Yasin said.
BGN Regional Coordinator for Central Java, Reza Mahendra, confirmed the temporary delay in fund disbursement to the 400 SPPGs. ‘It has been resolved. The funding obstacle was not really an obstacle, but the disbursement process took time and it has now been overcome. So they can operate again,’ Reza explained.
Reza noted that delays can occasionally occur, sometimes because the head of an SPPG fails to report the remaining balance of funds, which prevents replenishment. He assured that the 400 previously halted SPPGs have now received their operational funds. Regarding the 386 SPPGs suspended over wastewater issues, Reza said most have carried out the necessary improvements, with only around 100 still needing to report that their IPAL systems are in good condition.
Earlier, Bagus Anindito, Head of Administration for the Semarang Nutrition Fulfilment Service Office, which oversees 2,400 SPPGs across 20 regencies and cities in Central Java, acknowledged that several SPPGs had temporarily ceased operations due to pending funds. Speaking on Tuesday (9/6/2026), he said the delay was related to an ongoing review process by the Directorate General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance, and that the funds were in the process of being disbursed rather than being withheld.
