400 BUMN employees undergo military training at TNI Kodiklat
Tangerang (ANTARA) - A total of 400 employees of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) are taking part in three months of military training at the Indonesian Armed Forces’ Training and Doctrine Command (Kodiklat TNI) in South Tangerang, on Wednesday. The BUMN staff are being put through military drills by the TNI to strengthen discipline, nationalism and love of country. ‘Educating character, nationalism, the spirit of national solidarity, togetherness, discipline, and fighting spirit. We are entrusting Kodiklat TNI to carry out these activities,’ Deputy Defence Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto said at a press briefing at the TNI Kodiklat Headquarters, South Tangerang, on Wednesday. At Kodiklat TNI, he said, they will learn several basic military skills, including drill. The training, he noted, can enhance discipline and the employees’ ability to be led and to lead. Moreover, he said the drill is also useful for fostering team cohesion in working together. However, Donny stressed that the activity is not intended to implement a militarisation concept in the BUMN work environment. He said the education at Kodiklat TNI is part of the educational series titled Presidential Feature Leader Program (PLFP) that starts today. He explained that the nine-month education programme will be divided into three parts, consisting of three months of training at Kodiklat TNI, four months at Danantara Corporate University, and two months of internships at BUMN companies. ‘At Danantara Corporate University, they will gain knowledge related to managerial skills, decision-making, and analytical processes, and exposure to cyber and security,’ Donny said. With nine months of education, he hopes the participants can become high-quality BUMN personnel who can advance the nation.
