40 Passengers Evacuated from Disabled Vessel Near Pari Island
A joint rescue team successfully evacuated 40 passengers from a vessel that lost power in the waters off Pari Island, Thousand Islands Regency, on Sunday afternoon. The boat, KM Tiga D, was carrying 40 tourists from Pari Island to Kamal Port when it suffered a battery failure, causing the engine to cut out in the waters near Bokor Island. The Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service received the distress report at 5:00 p.m. local time and immediately dispatched five personnel and a rescue boat from Lancang Island. The rescue team arrived at the location at 5:08 p.m., and all passengers were successfully evacuated by 5:40 p.m. Authorities confirmed the evacuation was completed safely and the situation was under control.
