BATAM, Riau: Some 40 legislators allegedly did not pay their fiscal tax to Batam seaport authorities as they departed for a holiday in Singapore on Saturday.

According to an Antara news agency report on Saturday, the legislators took an express ferry to Singapore after attending a day-long meeting of the Association of Indonesian Legislative Councils (ADEKSI) on the island.

Asmin Patros, a legislator, confirmed that the 40 legislators were taking a holiday in Singapore.

"But, I don't know whether they paid their fiscal tax," he said.
