Joint officers have demolished dozens of illegal buildings in the Cogreg Village area, Parung District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The structures were cleared because they were erected on top of drainage or water channels. “The joint team carried out enforcement against 40 buildings, both permanent and semi-permanent, that were standing on irrigation channels,” said Parung Police Chief Kompol Maman Firmansyah on Tuesday (14/7/2026). Maman stated that the demolition took place from morning until noon. The operation involved TNI-Polri personnel and the local regional government. “The activity was supported by one excavator and one transport truck to speed up the demolition process,” he explained. According to Maman, this measure is a form of support for the regional government, particularly in creating a safe and well-organised area. “This activity aims to restore the function of the irrigation channels, prevent potential flooding, and create a more orderly and comfortable environment for the community,” he said. “The Police and the TNI will continue to synergise to support every government programme that serves the interests of the community,” Maman added. He confirmed that the enforcement process was conducted in an orderly and conducive manner. The area is expected to function again as a water channel to prevent flooding. “It is hoped that regional planning can be carried out continuously to create an orderly, safe, and comfortable environment, as well as to support development in the Parung District area,” he concluded.
