Administrative and banking problems affecting Hotel Arianz in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), have had a serious impact on dozens of workers. As a result of the dispute, at least 40 employees have been furloughed or subjected to termination of employment (PHK).

Sofyan Dwi Rizki, legal counsel for the heirs of Hotel Arianz, said the hotel’s operations have been closed for eight months, since around January. The closure was triggered by the dynamics of the dispute.

“Eight months ago, we closed this hotel. In total, 40 people have been furloughed or laid off. Since January, we have already furloughed them,” Sofyan said on Monday (10/8/2026).

I Made Agus Ariana, Director and heir of Hotel Arianz, confirmed that dozens of employees were laid off due to the case.

“Regarding the employees, there is certainly an impact. Since January, we have furloughed all of them,” Ariana said.

Rega Fajar Firdaus, Secretary of the Mataram Hotel Association (AHM), expressed regret over the layoffs at Hotel Arianz. Nevertheless, Rega could only offer empathy because the layoffs were not the will of the hotel owner.

“We can only empathise because this was not desired. It was not intentional, so to speak,” Rega said.

Rega was surprised by the forced execution carried out by the Mataram District Court, as there had been no prior news of a dispute between Hotel Arianz and the bank.

“We were surprised by the execution that took place suddenly without prior notification. We at AHM were shocked by today’s execution,” Rega said.

“Because the hotel is still in the process of a case, a dispute, so there is a possibility that those who were laid off could be rehired or something,” Rega continued.

It was previously reported that the Mataram District Court carried out a forced execution, or eviction, of the building and land of Hotel Arianz on Jalan Catur Warga, precisely behind Taman Sangkareang.

According to detikBali’s observations, the execution of the land and building of Hotel Arianz was dramatic and became a spectacle for local residents. The execution was heavily guarded by hundreds of police officers.

A large billboard featuring the face of President Prabowo Subianto was also displayed on the wall of Hotel Arianz. The billboard, which read ‘Mr Prabowo, please help us, our assets have been seized’, became a spectacle for the public.

Anak Agung Nyoman Diksa, the execution clerk of the Mataram District Court, explained that the execution was carried out forcibly because the Hotel Arianz building had become collateral for a loan at Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Palembang Branch.

“Because they could not pay, BNI Palembang Branch submitted an auction to the Mataram State Assets and Auction Service Office (KPKNL). The auction was won by PT Prima Hotel and the buyer’s tax payment has been paid in full,” Diksa said when met at Hotel Arianz.

The Mataram District Court has sent warning letters to Hotel Arianz twice. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not respond to the warning letters.

“Warnings have been given, twice. They were ignored. That is why we carried out the forced execution, removing all the goods,” Diksa explained.
