Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, stated that 40,962 participants have successfully passed the selection process to participate in the second batch of the 2026 National Internship Programme.

During the Kick-Off for the second batch of the National Internship Programme in Jakarta on Wednesday, Yassierli explained that this figure was determined after the government conducted a selection process for candidates meeting the required criteria. Based on data verified alongside the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, approximately 350,000 university graduates from the past year met the criteria and applied for the programme.

“After undergoing the selection process, we have finally appointed 40,000 people as participants for this second batch of the second cohort,” said Yassierli.

With this selection, the total number of participants across the two batches has reached 87,000 people.

Yassierli noted that the government will subsequently conduct an evaluation before opening the third batch of the National Internship Programme. The government is targeting a total of 150,000 participants for the 2026 National Internship Programme overall.

He added that the government continues to carry out evaluations to ensure that this internship programme provides opportunities for participants to enhance their competencies, gain work experience, build portfolios, and expand their professional networks during the six-month programme.
