West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah stated that 40,712, or 95.31 per cent, of Jakpreneur members in West Jakarta have already undergone digital transformation. Out of 42,716 active business operators, 95.31 per cent have successfully gone digital, Iin said during the 2026 National Communication Seminar themed ‘Synergy of AI and Public Relations: Towards Adaptive and Measurable Communication’ at the UPN Jakarta Campus, Pondok Labu, South Jakarta, on Thursday. According to Iin, the Jakpreneur ecosystem in her area forms a strong base for adopting artificial intelligence (AI) technology in running businesses. In an effort to strengthen grassroots economic resilience, digital technology adaptation for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is now being directed towards the utilisation of AI. ‘AI can be a catalyst for the transformation of the creative industry through work automation, more accurate data analysis, and service personalisation to increase customer loyalty,’ Iin said. She explained that AI utilisation can be applied in marketing through Natural Language Processing (NLP)-based chatbots, as well as in business management through predictive analytics to assist with stock management and operational cost efficiency. Nevertheless, Iin cautioned that challenges remain in the form of digital literacy gaps and data security. ‘Therefore, policy support is needed in the form of incentives for MSMEs that are adaptive to technology, as well as the development of affordable and inclusive local AI platforms. AI must remain under human control so that its use provides optimal and responsible benefits,’ she stated. Through synergy between the government, academics, industry players, and MSME communities, she added, it is hoped that the Jakarta 2035 Vision can be realised as a city that is advanced, green, and inclusive, with an MSME ecosystem that is resilient to crises and globally competitive.
