4 Tonnes of Tangkuban Parahu Arabica Coffee Exported to Saudi Arabia, Valued at Rp 800 Million
Local coffee products from West Bandung Regency (KBB), West Java, are increasingly in demand in the global market. Most recently, 4 tonnes of Mount Tangkuban Parahu arabica coffee worth Rp 800 million were exported to Saudi Arabia.
The shipment of green beans, the result of a fermentation innovation using pineapples cultivated by farmers in Cibodas Village, Lembang District, was released by West Bandung Deputy Regent Asep Ismail together with Tonas Kopi farmers and the Arjuna Farmers Group in Ngamprah on Saturday (29/8/2026).
Asep said the success was encouraging news for the development of the coffee commodity in West Bandung. Moreover, this shipment marked the first direct export by Lembang farmers to the Middle East region.
“Alhamdulillah, one of them has now succeeded, namely Kopi Poctan Arjuna or the Tonas Coffee product to Saudi Arabia,” said Asep.
According to him, the achievement was inseparable from the collaboration of various parties in encouraging micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and farmers to improve product quality so as to penetrate the international market.
He expressed hope that the success of the export to Saudi Arabia could serve as a stepping stone for West Bandung coffee farmers to expand their market to other countries. “Hopefully Mr Ananda, Mr Dikdik, and Kang Adil can continue to improve their products. They say that hopefully next year they can export to Japan,” he said.
Asep also conveyed his appreciation to Bank Indonesia, Customs and Excise, the West Java Provincial Government, and the West Bandung Regency Government for their support in the development and export process of MSME products.
Meanwhile, Tonas Kopi Manager and millennial farmer Dikdik Ramdaniansyah said the journey to being able to export independently did not happen overnight. He began working in the agricultural sector and post-harvest coffee processing in 2015. However, it was only in 2026 that he was able to carry out direct exports abroad by handling all document requirements independently.
“Alhamdulillah, it is now complete and we have found a direct buyer, a coffee shop in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,” said Dikdik.
The export opportunity began with a colleague who was in Saudi Arabia. The colleague then introduced the product to a prospective buyer until direct communication took place via email.
