4 Pillars Quiz: SMAN 2 Katingan Kuala Proves National Championship Capability
Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - SMA Negeri 2 Katingan Kuala, located in the Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, has successfully secured first place in the 2026 MPR RI 4 Pillars Quiz (LCC), proving that geographical limitations are no barrier to competing and excelling at a national level.
Riswati, a member of the SMAN 2 Katingan Kuala quiz team, expressed her gratitude from Palangka Raya on Sunday, noting the team’s achievement following an extensive period of preparation and competition.
“The support from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, particularly in improving education quality and learning digitalisation, significantly helped the team prepare for the competition,” said Riswati.
Riswati expressed appreciation for the learning facilities provided, including interactive whiteboards and televisions, as well as other supporting infrastructure, which aided their study and guidance sessions.
She also extended her thanks to the Governor of Central Kalimantan, Agustiar Sabran, and the Head of the Education Office, Reza Prabowo, for the support and facilities provided throughout the preparation and competition phases.
This support, she noted, serves as motivation for students to remain confident in developing their potential and to prove that students from regional areas are capable of competing nationally.
Meanwhile, Indah Fitriani, the supervising teacher for the Central Kalimantan MPR RI 4 Pillars team, stated that this success is the result of a consistent and disciplined preparation process.
“We have endeavoured to remain consistent and disciplined with the children so they can effectively apply the 4 Pillars of the MPR RI: Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, MPR Decrees, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika,” she said.
She added that understanding these four national pillars is not only vital for competitions but is also a fundamental part of character building and fostering national insight among the younger generation.
Indah hopes that the achievement of SMAN 2 Katingan Kuala will serve as momentum to continue strengthening national insight among students in Central Kalimantan.
“We hope our ‘Bumi Pancasila’ in Central Kalimantan continues to thrive by preparing students and the nation’s future generations with a deep understanding of the 4 Pillars of the MPR RI,” she explained.
The Principal of SMAN 2 Katingan Kuala, Sumanto, expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported the team’s journey to national success.
He extended his gratitude to the SMAN 2 Katingan Kuala quiz team, the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, and specifically the Education Office for providing support and facilities, including through education digitalisation programmes.
“The Central Kalimantan Education Office has helped facilitate us and provided digital assistance, allowing us to better prepare our quiz team,” he explained.
Sumanto noted that this success demonstrates that every student possesses potential that can be developed when provided with the right space, opportunity, facilities, and support.
“Every student has potential. Let us work together to provide the space and support so that children can actualise and develop that potential,” he said.
