JAKARTA – KOMPAS.com – The Jakarta Corruption Court panel has scheduled the sentencing hearing for former Deputy Labour Minister Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan, alias Noel, on Thursday, 4 June 2026.

Presiding Judge Nur Sari Baktiana announced the verdict agenda after the case examination was concluded during the trial.

“The case examination has now been completed and closed. The next agenda is the reading of the verdict for defendant Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan,” said Nur Sari Baktiana in the Jakarta Corruption Court hearing room on Monday (25 May 2026).

During the session, the judge also urged Noel to maintain his health while in detention.

“The defendant must remain in custody but stay healthy. The request for medical leave is currently being processed by the Corruption Court Clerk’s Office,” the judge stated.

Closing the hearing, the judge commended the cooperative attitude of all parties during the trial.

“Thank you for your cooperation in this trial. Similarly, the defendants’ lawyers have contributed to a conducive courtroom environment,” he said.

The judge then adjourned the hearing and instructed the public prosecutor to present the defendant at the upcoming verdict hearing.

During the prosecution’s sentencing hearing, prosecutors found Noel guilty of corruption as charged.

In addition to imprisonment, Noel faces a fine of Rp250 million.

In their assessment, prosecutors cited Noel’s lack of support for government anti-corruption efforts.

“The aggravating factor is that the defendant did not support the government’s programme to achieve a clean administration free from collusion, corruption, and nepotism,” the prosecutor stated.

However, prosecutors also considered mitigating factors for the defendant.
