Pekanbaru (ANTARA) - A total of 4,681 Hajj pilgrims, comprising 4,612 regular pilgrims, 21 Regional Hajj Officers (PHD), five Group Guidance for Hajj and Umrah (KBIHU) supervisors, and 43 flight group officers from Riau Province, have returned to Indonesia.

Head of the Riau Provincial Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Defizon, stated that the final group of returning pilgrims was part of Flight Group BTH 18 and landed safely at the Batam Hajj Debarkation point on Saturday (20 June). This group carried 265 individuals, consisting of 261 pilgrims, one PHD, and three flight group officers.

“As of 20 June 2026, the number of Riau Hajj pilgrims who have returned to the homeland totals 4,681 people. This consists of 4,612 Hajj pilgrims, 21 Regional Hajj Officers, five KBIHU supervisors, and 43 flight group officers,” Defizon said in Pekanbaru on Monday.

However, he noted that six pilgrims from Riau remain in Saudi Arabia. Of these, one pilgrim from Flight Group BTH 18 is still undergoing treatment in Medina, accompanied by another pilgrim. Additionally, one pilgrim each remains in Flight Groups BTH 20 and BTH 25, while two others are still with Flight Group BTH 21. They will be repatriated to Indonesia according to the established schedule.

Defizon expressed hope that all pilgrims still in Saudi Arabia can return home soon in good health. He also conveyed gratitude for the smooth implementation of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage for pilgrims from Riau Province.

Defizon further extended his appreciation to all Hajj officers who carried out their duties with dedication, ensuring that services for the pilgrims — from departure, the performance of rituals in the Holy Land, to the return process — proceeded smoothly and orderly.

“We thank all Hajj officers who have worked hard to provide the best service to the pilgrims. May all this devotion become a righteous deed in the sight of Allah SWT,” he said.
