Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 4,447 passengers cancelled their train journeys from departure stations in the Jakarta Operations Region 1 (Daop 1 Jakarta) and requested ticket refunds through the refund mechanism between 27 and 29 April 2026.

“KAI provides a 100 percent refund of the ticket fare, excluding booking fees, for affected customers. We ensure the refund process is easily accessible through various service channels,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He emphasised that KAI is committed to facilitating the refund process for all passengers, including those impacted following the KRL and train accident at Bekasi Timur Station.

He detailed that on 27 April, 260 passengers cancelled their journeys, followed by 3,475 on 28 April, and 712 on 29 April.

The refund policy applies to customers cancelling due to delays, postponements exceeding one hour, route changes, as well as those opting not to use replacement trains or onward transport modes.

Refund applications can be submitted at station counters, via the 121 Contact Center, or the Access by KAI application.

KAI allows refund submissions up to seven days from the scheduled departure date on the ticket, with fund disbursements targeted to be completed within 1x24 hours after cancellation.

“We continue to ensure all customers receive their entitlements quickly and accurately, while providing the best service in the ticket refund process,” Franoto stressed.
