4,132 Joint Personnel Deployed to Secure Student Protest at Monas

A total of 4,132 joint personnel have been deployed to secure a demonstration by students at the National Monument (Monas) area in Central Jakarta on Friday. The head of public relations for the Central Jakarta Metro Police, First Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the protest is being organised by the People’s Struggle Alliance, which includes the student executive bodies (BEM) of Jakarta State University, Trilogi University, the STIAMI Institute, and Paramadina University. The protest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. Officers will also be stationed at several points to anticipate other potential demonstrations. Traffic diversions will be implemented situationally around the protest location, and the public is urged to avoid the area to prevent traffic congestion.
