4,131 Personnel Deployed to Secure Today's Protest Actions

Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 4,131 joint personnel to secure demonstrations held by various community groups at several locations in Jakarta today, 18 June 2026. The measure aims to ensure that the expression of opinions proceeds safely without disrupting public activities. Kabidhumas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto, stated that the thousands of personnel will be stationed at strategic locations serving as mass concentration points. Budi detailed that the security force consists of 2,359 Polda Metro Jaya personnel and 372 personnel from the resort police. Additionally, there are 1,400 personnel from Operational Control Assistance (BKO), comprising 200 TNI personnel, 900 Korbrimob personnel, and 300 Korsabhara personnel. The police emphasised that this security approach prioritises preemptive and preventive actions. “We prioritise a persuasive and humanist approach. All personnel are reminded to act according to procedure and not be easily provoked,” Budi said. Regarding traffic flow, Polda Metro Jaya will implement situational vehicle diversions. The public is urged to avoid areas where actions are taking place to prevent traffic congestion during the activities. Protesters are also requested to express their aspirations in an orderly manner and not damage public facilities. For members of the public who observe potential security disturbances, the police have provided the Call Center 110 service for rapid reporting.
