An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 struck Southwest Maluku, Maluku. The earthquake was centred at sea.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred on Friday (27/2/2026) at 00:27 WIB. The earthquake was located at a depth of 194 kilometres.

“The epicentre of the earthquake was 175 km northeast of Southwest Maluku,” wrote @infoBMKG.

The coordinates of the earthquake were 7.45 degrees south latitude and 129.21 degrees east longitude. There have been no reports of damage related to the earthquake.

“This information prioritises speed, so the data processing results may not yet be stable and may change as more data becomes available,” BMKG wrote.
