The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has received four thousand applications for tax reporting relaxation submitted by corporate taxpayers. Similar requests have also come from the general public and tax intermediation associations. According to Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto, the high number of requests forms the basis for the decision to grant the relaxation.

“So today, we have decided this considering the strong interest in requesting an extension. There are around 4,000 applications from corporate taxpayers for relaxation,” said Bimo at the Central Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office on Thursday, 30 April 2026.

According to Bimo, the reporting relaxation applies until 31 May 2026, and corporate taxpayers who report within that period will be exempt from fine penalties. This situation, he said, prompted the DJP to carefully calculate this policy while still paying attention to the state revenue target for April.

Tax payment relaxation is still in the study phase because it must be adjusted to the provisions of the law and the state revenue conditions that are currently being calculated.

Bimo revealed that as of 12:00 WIB today, Thursday, 30 April 2026, the number of Notification Letters (SPT) submitted has reached 12.7 million. This figure is equivalent to 67 percent of the total SPT obligations, or 83.2 percent of the on-time reporting target.

He also stated that tax revenue performance cumulatively up to the latest period still shows a positive trend compared to the same period last year. Nevertheless, the DJP is still awaiting additional reports, both for Individual Income Tax (PPh) SPT, corporate PPh, and Value Added Tax (PPN) SPT.
