4,000 Civil Servants to Begin Reserve Component Training in April 2026
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Defence has revealed that the first wave of training for 4,000 civil servants to become Reserve Components will begin in April 2026.
“What we can share here is regarding the 4,000 civil servants. If there are still questions, as asked by the representatives earlier, this will be implemented this April,” said the Head of the Defence Information Bureau of the Ministry of Defence, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, when met in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (25/2/2026).
He explained that each training wave will last for one and a half months.
The first wave will involve 2,000 civil servants for one and a half months, followed by a second wave of 2,000 civil servants with the same duration.
Therefore, he assured that there is no coercion to participate in this training activity.
“Currently, it is in the registration and application stage in accordance with the Law on the State Defence Force in 2019, Number 23. This is still voluntary. Underline that. The requirements are voluntary,” said Rico.
Rico said that the Ministry of Defence only sets the quota for the number of participants needed from each ministry, out of a total of 49 ministries.
For example, if Ministry A has 1,000 employees, the quota given could be around 50 people.
Meanwhile, Ministry B, which has 500 employees, may only receive a quota of around 10 people.
However, in the registration process to meet the quota, a selection will be carried out.
The determination based on gender, both male and female, is left to each agency or ministry.
The participants sent are those who have registered internally and will then be processed administratively.
