3rd Monolog Festival at CCF Bandung

Four young Bandung artists are highlighting the 3rd Monolog
Festival being held in the auditorium of the French Cultural
Center (CCF) building on Jl. Purnawarman 32 every Friday at 7.30
p.m. for four consecutive weeks from Sept. 9 to Sept. 30.

The festival opened with Masmirah, a monolog by Arthur S.
Nalan, performed by Mami Sri Maryani. A week later, Ima
Rochmawati is due to perform a monolog by Iman titled Hilang
(Lost).

Next will be the turn of Bandung short-story writer and
dramatist, Mona Sylvina, who will perform a monolog titled Ode
for a KTP (Ode for an ID card) by Martin Aleida.

In the last week of the festival, Linda Yanti will perform
Anjing Kudisan (A Dog with Scabies), which is written by noted
literary critic residing in Bandung, Jacob Sumardjo.

CCF Bandung is featuring female performers in this festival in
response to their wish to appear in an event together. Tickets
are Rp 5,000 for a single performance or Rp 15,000 for all four
performances.

The French Cultural Center plans to organize a monolog
festival every September because on the past two occasions the
auditorium was filled to overflowing. --JP
