JAKARTA – The use of 3D printer technology in Indonesia continues to show an upward trend, in step with the growing need of businesses and creative industries for more efficient production processes. The technology is no longer used solely for prototyping, but is beginning to be adopted in small to medium-scale production.

Research by Data Bridge Market Research estimates that the market value of 3D printer materials, including filament, powder and resin, will rise from US$45.63 million in 2024 to US$178.55 million in 2032. The projection reflects nearly fourfold growth, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.35 percent over the 2025-2032 period.

The improving market outlook has also prompted 3D printer manufacturers to expand into the Indonesian market. One such manufacturer is Bambu Lab, which launched its A2L and A2L Combo 3D printers for the domestic market through its official retail network.

Samantha Zhang, Marketing Manager of Bambu Lab, said the growing adoption of 3D printing technology shows that market demand is no longer limited to hobbyists.

“Through the A2L printer, we want to make it easier for creators and SMEs in Indonesia to access 3D printing technology that is easy to use and more affordable, in order to drive the growth of the creative economy,” said Samantha.

According to her, 3D printer technology is now being used by SMEs and creators as an alternative production process, as it is considered faster and more flexible than conventional methods, particularly for limited-quantity production.
