A total of 393 pilgrims from the first Bengkulu flight group, part of the Padang (PDG) group 02, have arrived in Bengkulu Province after completing their Hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land.

“On behalf of myself and the Bengkulu Provincial Government, we welcome the pilgrims of group 02 PDG, who represent the first group from Bengkulu. Welcome back to Bengkulu Province, our beloved Bumi Merah Putih,” said Nandar Munadi, Assistant III of the Bengkulu Provincial Secretariat for General Administration, in Bengkulu on Friday.

The group travelled from Saudi Arabia, transiting through Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) in West Sumatra, before continuing their journey to Bengkulu. The arrival of the group 02 PDG pilgrims at the Bengkulu Hajj Dormitory was met by families, local government officials, and Hajj organisers.

Nandar expressed the local government’s gratitude that the pilgrims have returned to the region in good health after spending approximately 40 days performing the Hajj pilgrimage. He noted that the return of the pilgrims brings great joy to families who have long awaited the arrival of their relatives from Saudi Arabia.

He stated that all 339 pilgrims successfully completed the entire Hajj series and returned to Bengkulu safely. He added that this success is a blessing to be grateful for, as all pilgrims were able to complete their religious duties and return to the region in good condition. The return of group 02 PDG marks the start of the repatriation process for Bengkulu pilgrims from Saudi Arabia for the 1447 Hijri/2026 Hajj season.
