392 Mataram Pilgrims Arrive; Mayor Applauds Pilgrims' Discipline
The Mayor of Mataram, Mohan Roliskana, has expressed his appreciation for the 392 Hajj pilgrims who recently arrived in Mataram, praising their discipline and spirit of togetherness during the 1447 Hijri/2026 Hajj season.
‘Alhamdulillah, 392 pilgrims from Flight Group (Kloter) 5 from Mataram City have returned to the homeland in complete and healthy condition,’ he stated while welcoming the group at the Bir Ali II Hall, Lombok Hajj Dormitory, in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday.
Data from the People’s Welfare Division of the Mataram City Secretariat indicated that while the group originally consisted of 393 pilgrims, the total was reduced to 392 due to an immigration error involving one individual.
The Mayor expressed his gratitude for the smooth conduct of this year’s Hajj operations, which he noted were improved compared to previous years. He specifically commended the pilgrims for maintaining order and discipline, which he identified as a crucial factor in supporting the pilgrimage’s success, particularly given the high number of elderly pilgrims and those with significant health risks.
During the initial departure, the Mayor had urged all pilgrims to look after, care for, and assist one another. On behalf of himself and the Mataram City Government, he thanked the pilgrims and officials for their patience, sincerity, and for upholding the reputation of Mataram City.
‘Welcome back to your beloved families. God willing, may all pilgrims become mabrur (accepted) pilgrims, bringing blessings to their families and communities, and serving as role models in their respective environments,’ he said.
Additionally, the Mayor extended his thanks to the Hajj officials, the organising committee, and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for providing excellent service, ensuring the pilgrimage process was orderly and successful. This recognition was presented by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for West Nusa Tenggara, HL Muhammad Amin, as a mark of appreciation for the synergy between the Mataram City Government and all relevant parties.
