391 Pilgrims from Jakarta Embarkation Group Arrive in the Homeland
The repatriation of Hajj pilgrims for the Jakarta Embarkation during the 1447 H/2026 M season has officially begun. Flight group JKG-01, originating from East Jakarta, arrived in the homeland on Monday (1/6) night via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang.
Group JKG-01 carried 391 individuals, consisting of 387 pilgrims and 4 group officers. The aircraft arrived at 22:29 WIB, ahead of the original scheduled time of 22:45 WIB. Upon arrival, pilgrims immediately underwent health checks and immigration processes using a new streamlined flow designed to significantly reduce service times.
Maria Assegaff, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj), emphasised that this year’s return process was designed to be faster and more efficient through an integrated service scheme at the airport. This includes an updated pickup procedure where bus positions have been moved from the airside to an Umrah bus terminal that is closer and more accessible to pilgrims.
“Previously, the process from the moment pilgrims disembarked until they reached the bus could take more than one hour; now, the entire stage can be completed within 30 to 45 minutes. This adjustment was made to facilitate pilgrim mobility, reduce fatigue, and ensure they can continue their journey home more comfortably,” said Maria Assegaff.
Group JKG-01 arrived at the Jakarta Class I Hajj Dormitory in the early hours of Tuesday (2/6) at 00:53 WIB. Their arrival was welcomed by the Hajj Service Organising Officers (PPIH) of the Jakarta Embarkation alongside representatives from the Jakarta Provincial Government.
The entire arrival process proceeded in an orderly and controlled manner. To support the comfort and safety of the pilgrims during the embarkation process, 24 pilgrims were provided with wheelchair services. Additionally, all pilgrims received five litres of Zamzam water at the Jakarta Class I Hajj Dormitory as part of the repatriation services.
Saefullah, one of the pilgrims from Group JKG-01, expressed his appreciation for the services received during the pilgrimage. “Whatever we asked, it was always explained well. When we needed information or assistance, the officers responded and served us quickly,” he said. Similarly, another pilgrim, Budiono, noted that the facilities, hotels, catering, and transport were all excellent and highly satisfactory.
For the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj season, the Jakarta Embarkation is scheduled to manage the return of 32 groups, totalling 13,656 individuals, comprising 13,528 pilgrims and 128 group officers. The arrival of Group JKG-01 marks the beginning of the operational series for the return of Hajj pilgrims through the Jakarta Embarkation, which will continue in stages until the end of June 2026.
