39,662 SNBT Applicants Qualify for KIP Kuliah Through DTSEN
Jakarta (ANTARA) - 39,662 out of 86,118 applicants for the Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) Kuliah under the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT) pathway have been deemed eligible for assistance due to the implementation of the Data Tunggal Sosial dan Ekonomi Nasional (DTSEN) welfare indicators.
Acting Head of the Higher Education Financing and Assessment Centre (PPAPT) at Kemdiktisaintek, Sandro Mihradi, explained at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday that this more accurate selection process is driven by Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025 to ensure social assistance, including education, is delivered more effectively and accountably.
“This is what sets it apart from previous years, as DTSEN has officially replaced DTKS as the main reference for social assistance distribution. Thus, KIP Kuliah is part of the state’s social assistance,” he said.
Sandro explained that the operational basis for this targeted assistance is specified under Ministerial Regulation No. 2 of 2026 issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Permendiktisaintek).
However, of the 46,456 applicants deemed ineligible, Sandro noted that 2,656 students’ data had not yet been recorded in the DTSEN welfare decile system.
To ensure no eligible students miss out on assistance, thousands of students not yet in the decile system will undergo verification and validation by their universities to be proposed as KIP Kuliah recipients.
Meanwhile, for applicants who do not meet DTSEN social assistance criteria, Kemdiktisaintek assured that their education would still be safeguarded through affirmative measures by their respective universities.
