380 Customs Positions for High School Graduates to Open Soon
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has assured that recruitment for around 380 employees at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) for high school graduates or equivalent will soon open. This step is driven by the urgent need for technical personnel working directly in the field.
Purbaya emphasised that the process for opening these vacancies must not be prolonged. According to him, Customs requires additional operational staff to strengthen field technical performance, so the recruitment execution must be carried out immediately.
“Customs will open around 380 positions for high school graduates. It has been several months and it still hasn’t progressed. I request that it be executed directly because I also need workers who are truly at the field technical level. Perhaps it will open next month,” said Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
This statement shows a push for acceleration from the Ministry of Finance after the recruitment process had been stalled for quite some time. The government now wants to ensure that the operational staffing needs within Customs are no longer disrupted by delays in the employee procurement process.
On the other hand, Purbaya affirmed that the opening of CPNS 2026 in general remains under the authority of the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilisation and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB). However, from a funding perspective, according to him, there should be no issues.
“CPNS is under the Minister of PANRB. The budget should be available,” he stated.
Previously, Minister of PANRB Rini Widyantini signalled that the government is preparing around 160,000 CPNS formations for 2026. This figure aligns with the number of civil servants entering retirement in 2025.
Rini stated that the budget needs for implementing the CPNS 2026 selection have also been submitted to the Finance Minister. With this signal, the prospects for opening state apparatus recruitment next year are increasingly open, including for technical needs in strategic agencies such as Customs.
