38 Banks in Indonesia Closed Within 3 Years: Here is the List
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has closed 11 Rural Banks (BPR) throughout this year. Most recently, the OJK revoked the business licence of a BPR located in Bekasi on 19 August 2026.
Following the revocation of their business licences, all bank operations have ceased and their offices have been closed. However, the process of settling customer rights and the respective obligations of each bank will be carried out by a liquidation team formed by the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).
Meanwhile, the directors, board of commissioners, and shareholders of each bank whose licences have been revoked are prohibited from taking any legal action regarding the bank’s assets and liabilities without written approval from the LPS.
