Bekasi (ANTARA) - PT. Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) stated that as many as 38,646 vehicles were recorded leaving Jakarta through the Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) highway on Ascension Day, indicating that traffic flow remains quite high.

“The movement of vehicles on the MBZ highway during the Ascension Day holiday, or last Thursday, was still dominated by vehicles leaving Jakarta,” said GM Operations and Maintenance of PT. JJC, Desti Anggraeni, in Bekasi, Friday.

She explained that the volume of vehicles leaving Jakarta during that period recorded an increase of 63.84 percent compared to normal traffic conditions of 23,588 vehicles, based on daily recapitulation results.

According to her, the number of vehicles passing through during that period reflects the continued high level of public travel activity to take advantage of the momentum of the long weekend.

Her party also recorded the volume of vehicles heading to Jakarta through the same road and during the same period, namely 24,366 vehicles, an increase of 11.62 percent compared to normal traffic of 21,830 vehicles.

“Compared to the flow leaving Jakarta, the increase in vehicles heading to Jakarta is relatively smaller, indicating that the majority of road users are still in the phase of traveling out of Jakarta,” she said.

Overall, the total volume of vehicles crossing the MBZ Elevated Road during the Ascension Day holiday reached 63,012 units, or an increase of 38.74 percent from normal traffic of 45,418 vehicles.

The increase reflects the optimal use of the MBZ Elevated Road as part of the toll road network in supporting public mobility during the Ascension Day holiday period.

Her party continues to monitor traffic conditions intensively and ensure the readiness of operational services to maintain the smoothness, safety and comfort of road users during the long weekend holiday period.

Her party also continues to urge road users who pass on the MBZ to always prioritize safety in order to support the smoothness and safety of the trip.

“Increase driving awareness during rainy conditions because it can affect visibility and road surface conditions so that the trip can be safe and comfortable until you reach your destination,” she said.
