Cirebon — Traffic flow on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road in West Java has continued to increase, with a total accumulation of approximately 378,000 vehicles recorded by five days before Eid 2026.

“The cumulative number of vehicles traversing the Cipali toll road by Eid eve reached around 378,000,” said Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications for Astra Tol Cipali, in a statement in Cirebon on Tuesday.

He noted that this figure resulted from traffic volume data collected from 13 to 16 March 2026.

According to him, specifically on Eid eve, approximately 99,000 vehicles were recorded using the Cipali toll road section, a figure 69 per cent higher than normal daily traffic levels.

“However, this represents a decrease of around 8 per cent compared to the same period during last year’s Eid,” he said.

He reported that the increase in vehicle flow continued on Tuesday (17 March), particularly as one-way traffic management measures were implemented.

Based on data recorded until 19:00 WIB, traffic flow on the Cipali toll road remained smooth despite the significant increase in vehicle volume.

He noted that approximately 56,000 vehicles passed through the Cikopo toll gate travelling from Jakarta towards Cirebon.

“This volume increased approximately 40.2 per cent compared to the same time period on the previous day,” he said.

Meanwhile, rest areas along the Cipali toll road were reported to be busy with visitors, although parking capacity remained available.

The toll operator urged road users to limit rest stops to a maximum of 30 minutes so that rest area facilities could be used in rotation.

“Road users are also advised to utilise facilities outside the toll road and not to stop on the roadside except in emergency conditions to maintain traffic flow and road safety,” he said.
