A total of 370 inmates at the Class IIB Penitentiary in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), have received remission for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. Three of them are immediately freed.

“There are 370 people receiving remission, three of whom are directly freed. The decree has been issued; we just need to wait for the D-day for the handover,” said the Head of the Class IIB Dompu Penitentiary, Arya Wiguna, to detikBali on Friday night (20/3/2026).

The Dompu Penitentiary previously submitted 370 inmates for special religious holiday remission in 2026. All submissions were approved by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, evidenced by the received decree (SK).

Arya explained that the hundreds of inmates received sentence reductions of varying amounts, from 15 days, one month, one month and 15 days, up to two months, including those directly freed.

Of the total remission recipients, 177 are inmates from general criminal cases, while the other 193 come from special penalties in accordance with Government Regulation No. 99 of 2012.

“The three who are directly freed are inmates receiving special remission from general criminal acts,” he clarified.

The announcement of the religious remission decree will take place after the Eid al-Fitr prayer in the Dompu Penitentiary area on Saturday (21/3/2026).
