36 Judicial Candidates Advance to Health and Personality Testing Phase
The Judicial Commission (KY) has advanced 36 candidates for Supreme Court justices, four ad hoc human rights judges, and two ad hoc corruption judges to the health and personality testing phase in this year’s recruitment process.
KY’s Judicial Recruitment Head, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Asrun, stated that the quality assessment was conducted comprehensively with input from Supreme Court justices, expert panels, KY commissioners, and specialists.
“This is a thorough and comprehensive evaluation, and we are satisfied with the candidates’ performance,” Asrun said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (26 May).
He added that candidates who passed the quality assessment will proceed to health checks and personality profiling tests from 3-5 June 2026.
In an announcement read by KY Commissioner Anita Kadir, successful candidates for Supreme Court justices come from various backgrounds, including high court judges, Supreme Court officials, academics, lawyers, and tax consultants.
In the criminal chamber, successful candidates include Samarinda High Court Chief Judge Albertina Ho, Supreme Court General Judicial Affairs Director General Bambang Myanto, Supreme Court Secretary Sugiyanto, and Supreme Court Legal and Judicial Training Strategy and Policy Bureau Chief Samsul Arif.
For the state administrative chamber specialising in tax, successful candidates are drawn from tax judges, academics, and tax consultants.
For ad hoc human rights judges at the Supreme Court, four candidates passed the quality assessment: Edwin Partogi Pasaribu, Hendra, Roki Panjaitan, and Ventje Bulo.
Two candidates for ad hoc corruption judges who passed are Andreas Eno Tirta Kusuma and Sudiyo.
The KY has also opened public participation to provide input on the track records of successful candidates, particularly regarding integrity, capacity, behaviour, and character.
“Health and personality testing includes a component on track record assessment,” said KY Commissioner Abhan.
He stated that the public can submit written feedback to the selection team by 5 August 2026 via email or KY’s official complaint channels.
The KY stressed that the quality assessment results are final and candidates should disregard anyone promising success in the selection process.

Meanwhile, KY’s Judicial Recruitment Head, Andi Muhammad Asrun, explained that the recruitment process is based on the Supreme Court’s needs.
The primary principle of this recruitment is equal opportunity without discrimination based on candidates’ backgrounds.
He compared the current number of candidates to previous periods, which saw 183 applicants at the end of the selection process.
