36,000 Vehicles Pass Through Puncak Bogor, Megamendung-Cisarua Traffic Congested

Police have reported that 36,000 vehicles travelled along Jalan Raya Puncak in Bogor, West Java, on the first day of the long weekend. The figure represents the total number of vehicles passing through the Ciawi Toll Gate, including those heading towards Puncak and those travelling towards Jakarta.

Kasat Lantas Polres Bogor Iptu Afif Widhi Ananto stated on Saturday (15/8/2026) that traffic during the afternoon was dominated by vehicles heading towards Jakarta, as a one-way traffic system from Puncak towards Jakarta was in operation.

Afif noted that several points along Jalan Raya Puncak were congested during the afternoon, with heavy traffic from the Megamendung area to Cisarua. Three congestion points requiring attention were identified at Pasir Muncang, Megamendung, and Pasar Cisarua. The Bogor Police Traffic Unit has deployed 90 personnel along the route from Gadog to the Cianjur border to manage traffic and improve flow.

Afif added that the increase in vehicle volume had not yet been significant, but predicted that traffic would rise the following day. He said monitoring would continue on Sunday, noting that Monday was also a holiday, and therefore the peak traffic flow was expected to occur on Sunday.
