35th NU Congress: President Prabowo Optimistic Indonesia Will Rise

President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his optimism that Indonesia will rise to become an increasingly strong and independent nation. The Head of State made the remarks while attending the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress in Jombang, East Java, on Thursday (27/8/2026).

In his speech, President Prabowo acknowledged that Indonesia is currently facing a number of major challenges. One of the key concerns is the impact of the El Nino climate phenomenon, which affects national resilience, compounded by Indonesia’s complex geographical conditions as an archipelagic nation.

However, the President stressed that the nation’s abundant natural resources and vast energy potential serve as strong capital for national revival. “Trust me, in a few years Indonesia will rise remarkably, and nothing will be able to hold us back,” Prabowo told the congress participants.

The President outlined a number of achievements made by the government over the past two years. The primary focus has been on food and energy sovereignty to reduce dependence on foreign parties.

Regarding the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, the President committed to continuously improving shortcomings in its implementation. He emphasised that the benefits of this programme must be widely felt by children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

To ensure that the nation’s wealth truly returns to the people, President Prabowo reiterated the importance of courage in eradicating corruption and implementing massive state budget savings.

These firm measures are claimed to have produced tangible results. The Head of State noted that the government has succeeded in securing hundreds of trillions of rupiah from budget savings.

“From our savings efforts, we have managed to save hundreds of trillions. That money is what we use to help the poorest and most vulnerable people as much as possible,” President Prabowo concluded.
