352 Personnel Deployed to Secure Protest in Central Jakarta

A total of 352 joint personnel from the Metro Jaya Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police, and local police stations have been deployed to secure a protest in the Central Jakarta area on Tuesday. Central Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Head, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the first action will be held by the Kwini 8 Residents’ Communication Forum. “Security is in place for the protest by the Kwini 8 Residents’ Communication Forum and several other elements at the Central Jakarta Land Office. The action is planned for 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time,” Erlyn said in a written statement in Jakarta. The action will then continue in the Gambir area of Central Jakarta at 2:00 p.m. Officers will implement situational traffic management at the demonstration site, depending on the size of the crowd on the ground. The public is also advised to avoid the area around the protest to prevent traffic congestion.
