Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 350 students from various areas within the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) region participated in the ‘Palace for Schoolchildren’ programme at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex on Tuesday, to learn about the environment and the history of the Indonesian presidency.

According to a post on the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, the activity was attended by students from SMP Islam Terpadu, SMK Islam Pluit Raya, and the Banten Student Council Forum (Forum OSIS Banten).

During the activity, students were invited to explore the Jakarta Presidential Palace environment, including understanding the duties and functions of the government that take place within this central government hub.

Through the ‘Palace for Schoolchildren’ programme, students were given the opportunity to view historic buildings while gaining insights into the stories, functions, and various activities occurring within the Presidential Palace grounds.

The visit brought history lessons and national insight outside the classroom by providing students with direct experience in an environment closely linked to the journey of the Indonesian government.

The programme is also expected to spark curiosity and a passion for learning among students after they gain firsthand experience of the Jakarta Presidential Palace environment.

Furthermore, the experience is intended to instil a sense of patriotism, encouraging students to learn more about and contribute to the future of Indonesia.
