350 Representatives of Riau Community Empowerment Institutions Attend Pancasila Ideology Socialisation
PEKANBARU — The State Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) convened 350 representatives of Riau Community Empowerment Institutions (LPM) to reaffirm Pancasila’s position amid the surge of globalisation and digital disruption. Strengthening ideology is deemed urgent given the rising prevalence of radicalism, intolerance, and hoaxes that erode social cohesion.
The event, themed “Strengthening Pancasila Values Within Society to Realise Greater Indonesia,” took place in Pekanbaru on 28 February 2026. The forum brought together government and community organisations to reinforce ideological awareness down to the grassroots level.
BPIP Head Yudian Wahyudi stated that the Indonesian nation possesses great potential that must be preserved in the spirit of unity. “Through socialising Pancasila values, we must continuously strengthen unity and optimise the positive potential of this nation,” Yudian said in a statement on Sunday (1 March 2026).
Yudian emphasised that diversity is not an obstacle but a strength that must be managed within the framework of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. “Every citizen has the same obligation to realise the aspirations of independence, but the methods need not always be the same. This is the meaning of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika that we must bring to life in our daily lives.”
Acting Deputy for Inter-Agency Relations, Socialisation, Communication, and Networking at BPIP, Prakoso, stated that ideological challenges in the digital era are increasingly tangible. “Amid the surge of globalisation and technological advancement, we face serious challenges in the form of the infiltration of ideologies that contradict Pancasila values, including radicalism, intolerance, and the spread of hoaxes that can divide the nation.”
Prakoso added that Indonesia’s future is determined not merely by technological advancement but also by the steadfastness of national character. “Therefore, BPIP invites all segments of society to work together to root Pancasila in daily life.”
Secretary General of the LPM National Leadership Council, Muhammad Chairul Idham Dalimunthe, stated that ideological strengthening must not cease despite evolving challenges.
He noted that social upheaval serves as a reminder of the importance of ideological strengthening. “We gather today out of concern. When upheaval occurs in society, it reminds us that strengthening Pancasila ideology must not stop. If the spirit of Pancasila is firmly embedded, society will not be easily provoked and this nation will remain peaceful and united.”
He affirmed that the LPM is ready to be a strategic partner of BPIP at all levels. “If the spirit of Pancasila lives within society, then whatever we build will be solid and sustainable.”
