A total of 350 residents from four sub-districts in Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, received food aid packages distributed at the Pandawa Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) in Tanah Tinggi sub-district on Thursday. The Central Jakarta City Administration’s Assistant for Administration and People’s Welfare, Nurhidayat, stated that the food aid was a collaboration between the city administration and a community organisation, targeting pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and stunted toddlers. “The distribution of aid is to support efforts to fulfil community nutrition, as well as to accelerate stunting reduction,” Nurhidayat said. He explained that each aid package contained five kilogrammes of rice, 10 eggs, and a tin of biscuits as additional nutritional intake for the beneficiary families. Nurhidayat expressed hope that the food aid distributed would help meet the community’s nutritional needs and provide benefits for the recipients in Johar Baru. He conveyed that the government cannot handle social issues alone, thus requiring support and collaboration from various parties, including community organisations and elements of society. “We hope the food aid distributed today is beneficial. We cannot handle this alone; we need support from all parties to address social problems in the community,” he said. One of the aid recipients, 30-year-old Nia Novenia, a resident of RT 09/RW 02 in Galur sub-district, said she was helped by the food aid. She stated that she received the information and was registered to receive the aid from a local Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) cadre. “I got the information and was registered to receive food aid from the Galur PKK cadre. I regularly check my child’s growth and development at the sub-district integrated health post,” Nia said.
