JAKARTA – Forbes magazine has released its list of the world’s youngest billionaires in 2026.

Forbes identified 35 individuals who have accumulated a minimum net worth of $1 billion USD before turning 30 years old. This group is dominated by Generation Z.

This figure represents approximately 1 percent of the total 3,428 billionaires worldwide.

The percentage has increased by approximately 0.4 percent compared to the previous year.

The combined wealth of these 35 young billionaires reaches $92.4 billion USD, or approximately IDR 1.56 quadrillion at an assumed exchange rate of IDR 16,900 per USD.

This value is lower compared to the previous year’s youngest billionaire cohort, which reached approximately $152.3 billion USD.

Examples include Red Bull heir Mark Mateschitz, now 32 years old, and Stripe co-founder John Collison.

Forbes noted that eight of the 35 young billionaires are US citizens. Three others also reside in the United States.

A total of 13 young billionaires live in Europe. Six others are based in Asia.

The Forbes report demonstrates that the majority of young billionaires have acquired their wealth through family business inheritance.

Many originate from major industrial companies in Europe and Asia.

Recent developments also show the emergence of young billionaires who have built their own technology companies over the past several years.

The fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and software have emerged as prominent sectors.

“All the Americans are people who achieved success through their own efforts, whilst nearly all Europeans inherited their wealth,” Forbes stated on its website on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

The report details that the wealthiest young billionaire is an heir to the EssilorLuxottica company with a net worth of $6.8 billion USD.

Second position is held by Luca Del Vecchio from Italy, aged 24, with a net worth of $6.8 billion USD.

Johannes von Baumbach from Germany, aged 20, ranks next with a wealth of $6.6 billion USD.
