35 Members Die Due to Workload, DKI Satpol PP Head Requests Rest Facilities
The Head of Satpol PP (Kasatpol PP) DKI Jakarta, Satriadi, has complained about the workload borne by his members. He has requested rest facilities for Satpol PP personnel at every sub-district office.
This was conveyed by Satriadi during a meeting with Commission A of the Jakarta DPRD at the DPRD Building in Central Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026). He stated that during his less than one-year tenure as Kasatpol PP, 35 personnel had died due to the workload.
“Regarding the facilities at the sub-district offices, Sir. This is also our concern. I have been Kasatpol PP for almost a year, Sir. So almost 35 of my members have died. And apparently, the comparison with the previous year is 42 people,” said Satriadi.
Satriadi explained that some of his members work 36 hours. He noted that the workload arises due to the limited number of personnel.
“So it’s not because of the Kasat, Sir, but because of the conditions of the workload and facilities that are extraordinary. Satpol PP members work up to 36 hours. Because of the number of personnel, as Mr Dadi also mentioned earlier, in the area, Satpol PP is not visible,” he said.
“Because the number of Satpol PP members in each sub-district is only around 7-10 people. So why do we do 36 hours? Because the workload is disproportionate to the number of personnel, Sir. Especially since there are no adequate rest facilities at the sub-district offices,” he continued.
Satriadi mentioned that his members now receive meals and drinks while on duty. He expressed gratitude that this has made his members quite happy.
“And thank you, Sir, this is extraordinary appreciation from the Satpol PP members to Commission A for supporting meals and drinks on duty, Sir. For our members now, alhamdulillah, they are very happy just to get meals and drinks for duty. That’s extraordinary,” he said.
Nevertheless, he regretted the lack of rest facilities provided for his members on duty. According to him, this affects their health.
“But there is no rest place, Sir, at the sub-district offices. Even though they guard 24 hours at the sub-district offices. There is no place for them to rest. That also becomes an obstacle. Now they still use the prayer room, sometimes the corridor, this and that. Well, how can they work well the next day for enforcement? Surely their tension is always high,” said Satriadi.
Furthermore, Satriadi stated that many Satpol PP members have high blood pressure. This was only discovered after conducting health checks.
“That’s why yesterday we did a check, medical check-up, and it turned out the blood pressure, the high tension is extraordinary. So perhaps I request the members of Commission A to pay attention to us. Because I also experience it like the fire department, one day on duty, two days off,” he explained.
“So there is what is called maintaining stamina, humanity. That’s why we ask for support from the chairman and members of Commission A to pay attention to the facilities for rest places for Satpol PP members at sub-district offices,” he added.
