35 Indonesian Marine Personnel Ready for Action at RIMPAC 2026

A total of 35 Indonesian Marine Corps personnel have arrived in Hawaii to participate in the prestigious multilateral Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2026 exercise. The troops arrived on Wednesday (24/6) to attend the opening ceremony.

Head of Marine Corps Information, Colonel (Mar.) Rana Karyana, stated that the corps’ participation in this event is intended to strengthen Indonesia’s military relations with countries in the region while bringing honour to the nation on the international stage. “The Marine Corps’ participation in this prestigious event is a strategic opportunity to increase the capacity of soldiers, broaden professional insight, and demonstrate capability,” Rana said in a press release.

Rana noted that the Opening Brief and Ceremony was held at the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) building, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and was opened by the Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Colonel Stephen E. DeTrinis of the U.S. Marine Corps. Colonel Stephen welcomed all exercise participants and emphasised the importance of discipline, professionalism, and adherence to security procedures throughout RIMPAC 2026. Following the opening, participants received briefings on the exercise’s implementation, rules, and provisions to ensure security, safety, and the smooth running of the entire exercise series.

Rana expressed hope that the Marine Corps personnel would comply with all applicable regulations and deliver their best performance during this year’s RIMPAC. Prior to their deployment, the soldiers conducted preparatory training, including a zeroing and marksmanship exercise at the Jusman Puger Shooting Range in Cilandak, South Jakarta. They also carried out combat operations training at Pondok Cabe Airfield, Tangerang, which involved air mobility and fastrope insertion schemes.
