35 fire engines and 165 firefighters deployed to fight Kemayoran house fire
Firefighters have reinforced their deployment to the scene of a house fire in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, successfully preventing the flames from spreading to other structures.
“The fire is currently under control and being cooled,” said Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin on Monday, 23 June 2026.
A total of 165 fire department personnel are currently battling the blaze, working to prevent further spread.
“Thirty-five fire engines and 165 personnel have been deployed,” said the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department’s Command Center (Gulkarmat).
The fire has been contained to prevent spreading since 11:30 pm WIB. The house fire occurred on Kemayoran Gempol Street, RT 2 RW 5, Kebon Kosong Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta.
“The fire is being contained, with ongoing suppression efforts to isolate the blaze and prevent further spread,” he said.
The fire was reported to the fire department at 8:55 pm WIB, with firefighting operations commencing at 9:05 pm WIB.
The cause and sequence of events remain unknown, with no final casualty figures confirmed.
Burnt houses counted as evacuation centre established
The Central Jakarta city government is currently counting the number of homes destroyed by the fire and has set up temporary evacuation centres in collaboration with relevant agencies.
“We are still on-site identifying the number of affected homes,” said Arifin.
The evacuation centre is located near the fire site on Kemayoran Gempol Street. The number of affected residents remains unknown.
“The evacuation centre is being set up at Yusuf Hamka Field, behind Palazo Apartment.”
Police have closed several road sections to reroute traffic around the fire site, while firefighters are isolating the blaze to prevent it from spreading to other buildings.
